The Book Thief is historical fiction. It is a book about a German girl in Nazi Germany. The crazy part about this book is that it is told by Death, but he's not as bad as everyone originally assumes. He's just trying to do his job.
It reads almost like a collection of short stories, each chapter describing a different event rather than focusing on a central plot. Emily was surprised to find that it was directed towards young adults. She thought it was for regular adults.
Do you want to know the end of the story? Germany loses.

Emily's Rating: I thought this was one of the best books I've read in a long time. I was late to work several times because I couldn't put it down. I thought it was written really well, and in an interesting way. I cried for like a half hour after it was done because it was so good/sad. I would recommend it to anyone. 5/5
I'll read it too!
